IRS Rear End and Ball Joint Front End

I wish I still had my 69 bug.  It had everything we need to star our class 11 build.  Researching on it is very clear that a ball join front end and an IRS rear end is the best way to go for off road use.  The IRS rear end will allow more travel and will not camber the tires, giving more traction.  The ball joint front end is much stronger then a link pin front end and is better for off road use.

Now how to get more travel out of the stock suspension.  A cut and turn on the front end of 9/16″ will give the travel needed.  Not sure how to increase the travel on the rear end yet.  More to come as the build progresses.

A picture of the rear end for reference.
