Colorado Springs Brewery Tour

Phantom Canyon Brewing Co.

Made another stop on the tour tonight.  This is my third brewery that I have visited since I started.  I love my stouts so I just had to try the Zebulon’s Peated Porter.  I think I have a new favorite stout 🙂

Here is the descriptions from the breweries web page.

Rich, full bodied and robust. Smooth, with chocolate and roasted flavors balanced by subtle smoky character of peat-smoked malt.

Cask ale is traditionally brewed and left to mature in the serving vessel. This type of ale may seem “flat” but the process that makes cask ale unique develops subtle flavors and aromas that processed beers can never provide. Because we don’t use pressurized gas to push these ales from tank to tap, it must be hand-pumped through the beer engine and aerated to produce a good head and release flavors. Served at traditional cellar temperature, cool but not chilled.

Until the next stop….

Colorado Springs Brewery Tour

Made another stop tonight but not a new place.  My friend Tony wanted to go out for some drinks after work so we ended up at Colorado Mountain Brewery.  Tonight I had the 7258 Blonde Ale.  Here is the description from web page

“A classically styled blonde ale, 7258 is a refreshing and balanced blend of Czech Saaz Hops and select malts. 7258 denotes both the altitude of the nearby United States Air Force Academy, as well as the attitude of Colorado and its residents.. “Far, far above that of West Point or Annapolis”…and the rest of the world. Approx. 4.4% ABV”

If I had to pick between the Blonde ale and the Ole 59er Amber ale, I would choose the Ole 59er Amber Ale.  Just my preference.

Are you interested in joining the tour?  Send me a message and I will let you know where I will be next.

Colorado Springs Brewery Tour

Next stop on the tour was to Colorado Mountain Brewery.  I have been here a few times for work functions, but never to just sit down and have a beer.  I had the Ole 59er ale tonight.  Another yummy beer.  I think this will be my take on all the beers I drink while on this tour.  While I was there I also found out that one hour before each AFA football game they have a free kill the keg party.  I will need to keep up on the AFA football schedule from now on.
